The initial release of Helvetica Now consists of 48 font files in three optical sizes: Micro, Text and Display. Completely redrawn, it preserves Helvetica’s clarity, simplicity, and neutrality, while updating the family for the demands of contemporary design. Helvetica Now Variable contains three axes (weight, width, and optical size) with the ability to blend seamlessly across the entire range. The width axis adds condensed and compressed styles throughout the weight and optical size ranges with all named styles accessible as variable instances. Both the initial release of Helvetica Now and the Variable release contain extensive alternate forms, including: hooked lowercase l; rounded G; straight-legged R; single story a; lowercase u without trailing serif; and rounded jots and punctuation.
